I do not like being sick! I do not like the stuffed-up nose and sinus cavities, the feeling of being unable to control my body’s temperature, or the sore limbs. I’m thankful that so far I have not yet thrown-up, and if that happens, I would be using the new website (WallmartLiveWell.ca) to tell work that I’m taking a sick day.
Unfortunately, I do not have any cold and flu medicine at home today, and I don’t have enough cash to buy any until tomorrow. That means I have to deal with the symptoms the best that I can during my closing shift at work this afternoon and evening. With me feeling like this and the weather looking to be unpleasant, I will no doubt be accepting a ride home from work from my parents after work today. 😉
Hoping I feel better in a couple of days, take care! 😉
Today, I am now 32 years old. Time seems to have that habit of every once in a while creeping up on you and reminding you of the wisdom of not wasting it. There are things that I wish could have happened in the past but did not happen, and there are things that if I could change them, I would.
I am looking forward to this afternoon and spending some time with my family at my parents acreage (and having sweet and sour spareribs for supper 😉 ). I’ll be taking along the Black Forest cake I bought on Sunday for my birthday for dessert tonight. My roommate works this afternoon or I’m certain he’d want to come out as well, so I’ll bring the leftover cake home so he can have a slice. 😉
Have a great day today, and if you share my birthday today, Happy Birthday! 😀
I’m planning on donating monthly to the Canadian Diabetes Association through CanadaHelps. It will help me next year on my tax return just as donating through work at Superstore and at church did this year.
I’m going to be donating $25 each month and I will be setting it up this afternoon after I deposit Jon’s rent payment to me. This is a way that I can help others with my money. I will look at donating to more charities after I get my business up and making money.
Take care and have a happy Family Day tomorrow. 😉
I would like to wish all of my subscribers and readers a Happy Valentine’s Day today. May you enjoy the romantic love that is in your life today, and if you do not have any in your life yet may you find that special someone soon.
Today’s holiday is named after Saint Valentine, who married soldiers and their sweethearts against the emperor’s orders and was imprisioned for it. The emperor thought that unmarried men made better soldiers, so he forbade his men to marry as long as they served in his army. Supposedly the first Valentine was sent by this saint as well as the note to a young lady was signed “Your Valentine”.
Personally, love has been pretty cruel to me, as I’ve suffered four broken hearts in eight years. I’ve almost given up on finding that someone special for me, but as a romantic at heart, I still hold out hope to find her.
Have a great day all and I’ll post again soon! 😉 ❤
Tomorrow I donate blood in the afternoon at the Red Cross clinic at the local Norsemen Inn. I usually do this twice a year, even though I could do it more often. The only reason I don’t do it more is that when I do it more often my arm starts to hurt.
I’m glad it’s in the afternoon as I have shopping to do in the morning tomorrow. I get tomorrow off due to booking it off from work, and I also have Saturday off due to the schedule (as a Wal-Mart work week is Saturday to Friday). After that my next multiple days off in a row is for my birthday when I get four in a row.
I got to get going so I can finish my breakfast and get ready for today’s shift at work as I work at noon today. Take care! 😉
Tax time is here again, but thankfully I’m already done the work necessary thanks to SimpleTax. All I have left is to file this year’s tax return via Netfile on the twentieth of this month, and then wait for this year’s tax refund to appear in my bank account. 😉
I’ve already decided to put the lion’s share of the return into my savings account towards my goals (most importantly launching Gate 90 Marketing Inc next January). I’m also going to make a one-time payment on my credit card to help reduce it as much as possible.
Another new savings goal of mine is a computer to act as a server for my own blog. It’s going to cost me around $2,700 after shipping and GST for the parts, plus another forty bucks or so for an account at NoIP to ensure my domain name points to the server. I likely won’t do this though until I have my own house due to the lack of free power jacks currently in my apartment. I will rent space from my company on it’s VPS for the blog after it launches until then (and let the company run ads on it as well).
I am thankful I don’t work until five this evening, but I still have other things to get done before I have to leave for work. Take care until the next time! 😉
I’m trying to decide what the main focus of Gate 90 is. Is it:
- A social network
- A marketplace
- A search engine
- A job board
- Something else?
I know that synonyms of gate are portal and entry, so that does help a bit. What do you think? Let me know in the comments or use the Contact page to send me an email with your thoughts on this.
Most of my business’s sites are going to be subdomains of gate90.com, which will be the main site and a social marketplace (won’t be part of the company launch however). Search, jobs, forums, fanfiction, and ads will be the different subdomains and their names – Gate 90 Search, Gate 90 Jobs, Gate 90 Forums, Gate 90 Fanfiction, and Gate 90 Ads instead of the names and domains I’ve been using previously. Any domains I registered for the subdomains I just listed I will be letting expire when they come up for renewal including websearchify.com and unlimitedfanfiction.com.
However my blog and one other site will still have separate domains for a similar reason. Both sites would not work well as a subdomain of gate90.com. I’m too used to whiteeagleaerie.com from when my blog was self-hosted and am looking forward to returning to that, and the other site I want to separate from the others due to the content I have planned for it.
Speaking of my company’s planned fanfiction site, it will be free to use and will be ad-free, though donations will be accepted via Paypal and Bitpay (if the latter has a donate button I can set up) for the cost of maintaining the site.
I’m posting this in advance (thanks WordPress for scheduling of posts 😉 ), so take care as I gotta run! 😉
I just posted the first chapter of my Harry Potter fanfic to the Harry Potter Fanfic Archive. If you are over the age of eighteen or consent in your country, you can read it here. I am saying over that age because there will be adult content in my story in the future.
Just because people don’t like adult content, doesn’t mean that it will go away. Plus I try to write as realistic as I can (with modifications for said fanfic universe), and it’s unrealisitic to expect no adult situations to show up in a magical boarding school with few adults to supervise so many children.
One final note: Don’t expect regular updates from me (at least for now). I do have a job to work which drains me and I only write when I am in the mood to do so (usually on my days off or when I have an evening shift at work) and even then, I don’t write that fast.
Going to go have some supper and put another eye drop in (got to do it 4 times a day for a week), so take care and sorry for posting so late! 😉
I’ve started writing my first Harry Potter fanfiction story called “Hadrian James Pendragon-Slytherin: Heir of Arthur”. I should have the first chapter ready to post in a couple of days at HP Fanfic Archive. I will be posting my stories there until I can get Unlimited Fan Fiction back up and running properly.
This story will feature the Potter family as the hidden descendants of King Arthur Pendragon, and Harry will be more knowledgeable about the magical world and his place in it when he goes to Hogwarts. I will not reveal which house I have chosen to sort Harry into, or other details at this time.
Looking forward to writing this story, so take care! 😉
Yesterday, I changed my mind about which script will be powering Sociable Advertising as the original script would not have done what I wanted to do. The first option appears to no longer be in business (at least they don’t respond to Twitter or emails quickly), so I found a better option, XYZ Admarket. It is more expensive, but at the same time has features that I like.
XYZ Admarket also has add-ons that I will purchase in the future after the company is making money. These add-ons will add more useful features to the site, and I will announce each one as I buy and add them to Sociable Advertising.
On a related note, I have purchased the script for WebSearchify.com and have downloaded it to my external hard drive. When I am ready to install it, I am one step closer to launching the web’s newest search engine. I know that in the future I will need to hire web programmers to expand the capabilities of the script, but it will work until my company can afford to do that and has some place for them to work.
Now I need to focus on the rest of my day and my evening shift at work, so take care! 😉
I’m looking to launch my new business next January via my savings (I’m going to place any tax refund I get into it) and my credit card. The more I can save up by then, the less I will have to put on my credit card.
I will not be launching the social marketplace Gate 90 then, but my advertising solution, Sociable Advertising, and my new search engine, WebSearchify.com. (I will also be moving The WhiteEagle’s Aerie back to a self-hosted WordPress install and the old domain whiteeagleaerie.com then as well.) I just bought the domain for it yesterday for a five-year term as well as the software I’ll need to run it. All that will be on Gate 90 will be a home page with links to the two other sites and a message stating that Gate 90 is returning soon as a social marketplace.
Gate 90 will be the first site to run WordPress of the four sites I have planned. Sociable Advertising will be run off of OIO Publisher, where as WebSearchify.com will be using a script I found on CodeCanyon. CodeCanyon was the best offer I could find for a low price, while having decent capabilities.
Now I’m off to do some more reading and relaxing today and tomorrow, as I’m off work until Friday evening. Take care all! 😉
I have a loose stitch in my right eye, and the earliest I am expecting to go to Edmonton to see the specialist to get it removed is Tuesday. Until then, I will have to put up with the feeling of it in my eye, especially when I work this afternoon and evening and tomorrow morning and afternoon. At least the weather isn’t storming and the wind isn’t that bad, so I don’t have to worry about stuff blowing into it and making the situation worse.
I’ll let you all know how my emergency appointment goes after I get home that day. Until then, stay safe and warm! 😉
